Jennifer Gribble has served SMBC as our Wedding Coordinator, Marketing Coordinator, and most recently, our Community Outreach Director. Jennifer has a heart for outreach as evidenced by the different jobs she has held.
Jennifer and her husband, Mark, were the first leaders of a group of South Mainers called the GO (Guest Outreach) Team, and she used her organizational skills to mobilize and direct volunteers to contact people who visited our church. Her current duties as Community Outreach Director don’t feel like duties at all as Jennifer says, "It’s truly been my honor to serve South Main for 20 years! From starting as the Wedding Coordinator to now serving as the Community Outreach Director, I have been so blessed by the people I work with and get to know through this amazing work. Thank y’all for loving me and my family through so many stages of our lives."
One of her great joys is helping brides, grooms, and their families navigate wedding rehearsals and ceremonies by taking care of details and shepherding wedding parties so families are free to enjoy the occasion.
Claire Frazier had this to say about Jennifer from the Mother-of-the-Bride perspective:
Our daughter was married at South Main during the COVID pandemic, the first ceremony back in the church when the world began to slowly open up. We were anxious about so many out-of-the-ordinary wedding details and needed a different sort of hand holding from our wedding coordinator. I am forever grateful to Jennifer Gribble for making our special day extraordinary! Her steady confidence and cheerfulness calmed my MOB heart, helping me know our guests would be safe, and allowing me space for focused attention on what was most important - our daughter and her groom! The service was beautiful, exactly what we’d prayed for and Jennifer was there every step of the way cheering us on!
Jennifer, congratulations on 20 years of shepherding families through one of the most important occasions in their lives. I’ll always remember seeing your reassuring smile each time I was tempted to be nervous about Annie’s wedding. Thank you for all you mean to us and to so many others. You are a blessing, a treasured gift to countless families at South Main!
Chandler and Kayli Johnson were married at South Main and shared this:
Happy 20 years as wedding coordinator at South Main! Thank you for helping Chandler and me on our favorite day to remember. Our wedding in 2021 on a warm April morning was absolutely beautiful. No doubt with significant contribution on your part for organizing and preparing us. We truly appreciate you keeping us informed on the church's requirements during a very unsure time in the world. COVID certainly threw a curveball for those of us wedding planning. While we imagined our wedding in the Chapel, COVID had other plans. Looking back I can't imagine not having our wedding in the Sanctuary with Yuri playing his heart out on the organ and the morning sun streaming through the east stained glass. Thank you for answering our millions of questions and asking questions we hadn't even thought of for the big day. We also want to thank you for managing our family during the rehearsal and day of, we know that is no small feat. Congratulations and here's to 20 more!
From a grateful church family, thank you, Jennifer, and congratulations on 20 years of service!
