Around this time of year while preparing for Christmas, I think a good deal about my mother’s passing eleven years ago on December 8, 2013. Of course, many of us in this season are not only celebrating but remembering those who are no longer with us. It’s a peculiar feeling when celebration and sorrow converge.

On Christmas Eve, we gather at 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM for our traditional Candlelight Service to tell the beautiful and most consequential story of Christ’s birth and to celebrate the impending arrival of Christmas. The compelling Old and New Testament texts we will read give us the remarkable specifics of this most remarkable story. This story of question upon question culminates in an answer: the Christ child in the manger. So let us bring our questions to Bethlehem and wonder at the Hope, Joy, Peace, and Love offered to us each and every day.…

New Year's Brunch
December 29, 2024 at 9:00am
Join us on Sunday, December 29 as we continue to celebrate the joy of Christmas. We will gather for a time of fellowship with a brunch in Turner Fellowship Hall at 9:00 AM, then at 10:00 AM worship together in the Sanctuary ahead of the New Year. On this day, there will be no Family Ministry or Adult Bible Study.
