Sermon – "The Glory of Christmas"

Our Advent journey continues toward Christmas as we consider not only the wonder of the season, but the wonder of the Christmas story— the Word made flesh, the miracle of incarnation, the birth of Jesus Christ. The glory at the heart of Luke’s telling of this wondrous story was expressed in our music this past Sunday and in a sermon about the angel’s message to the shepherds in their fields by night. The presence of God so long gone (seemingly) from the world returned in this momentous visitation. This week, consider the joy embedded in the deep meaning of this part of the Christmas story even as the sonic beauty of Sunday’s worship continues to echo in your ears.
